The Beach Temple of Ganpatipule

Want to see a place with the most beautiful front yard? Visit Ganpatipule!

You will find a beautiful temple with red pillars and white roof in the backdrop of a green hill. This is the famous Ganesh temple of Ganpatipule. This temple is blessed with a beach as its front yard.

The Ganpatipule beach is magnificent. Its clean white sand shines like silver. The clear turquoise sea  keeps you mesmerized. The roar of the sea simply haunts you—pulls you towards it.

Yes! The sea literally pulls you inside. It's a risky beach! There are dangerous undercurrents, which drag careless people into the sea. Nonetheless, this is one of the most beautiful beaches in India!

There is a parikrama route around the temple. This paved path of laterite stone runs through lush greenery. It is clean and well-maintained, irrespective of the thick vegetation it passes through.

This kilometer-long route is a delight for nature lovers. There are different species of tropical plants, ranging from trees, shrubs, and grasses to ferns, lichens, and mosses. The birds are innumerable, especially if you go at the time of sunrise or sunset.

As you climb the hill, the vegetation becomes thicker and you start feeling the tranquility of nature. At the top, it becomes absolutely quiet, if there are no people or birds around. As you start descending, you hear a rumble from far away. You continue and the rumble becomes louder. Finally, you land on the beach, just in front of the temple!

The Swayambhu Ganesh (or self-originated idol of Lord Ganesh) is famous for fulfilling the wishes of devotees. Many people vow to the God for different wishes and find that they are completed. It is up to an individual's beliefs and experiences.

I personally found serenity at this place—the peace of mind that I was longing for since long. What could be the secret behind it? The sparkling sand, the roaring sea, the lush greenery, or the Divine presence?

I don't know. Maybe, you can visit, experience, and let me know!
